So you are planning your own wedding? What you need to know.

Haught Events

So you are planning your own wedding, there is nothing more exciting than having your wedding day. Planning floral appointment, bakeries tastings, Catering sample trays, locating servers, & scouting for DJ's. Feeling overwhelmed yet? Well some brides just see the glamour of being the bride; not noticing the time and effort it takes to plan the perfect wedding creating the bride-villa seen on local tv shows.

The sooner you realize, "you are going to need a planner" the smoother the wedding planning will go. This planner can be family, friends, or a professional; the bridesmaids have their own duties, helping the bride with invitation parties, planning the bridal shower (brides mothers helps), getting everything to the venue and not planning the wedding. With that being said, the planner needs to fully understand the bridal & groom's dream wedding; photos of other weddings, clippings from magazines and a general idea of the feel of the wedding, helps the planner develop an idea of what the bride's dream wedding looks like. Keep in mind, planners look out for the bride & grooms plans for their wedding, not your mother's or aunt's ideas. We make sure that feelings are gentle put in place to perform your dream wedding. An experienced planner knows how to turn down and politely say "no" to the additional last minute add-ons placed from those good intentions by family members. Leaving you in the clear of bitter disappointment or grief given later. The planner is the "out"; the one who holds blame for 'mom' not getting the red candles on the candle opera's instead of your chosen ivory. Believe me, no matter how many times you say "no" they will last minute undermine your choice with good intentions:)

Weddings Made Simple

Fun at first, the books make it look so easy never getting into great detail on what goes on behind the scenes with caterer's, florist, bakeries, and servers. A lot of 'The Day Of Planning' is done the first three hours, a true genie in a lamp, while the wedding party is getting dressed. The planner knows you always feed the delivery guys or tip them well as they had a huge part in making that delivery on time and in one piece. The planner is still working during the wedding, vows and two hours after the wedding. As the bride, you don't want to leave the guests to fend for themselves. Parties can get out of hand, leaving the couple with an outrageous bill for after service actions taken on by happy party goers. While you want your guests to feel welcome at your wedding you don't want things to get out of hand after you leave and a planner makes sure that happens without a hitch.

Don't be shy about asking to participate in morning details, just keep in mind you and your wedding party are going to be very busy getting makeup and hair done. The planner is there to make sure your idea comes to light on the day of, keeping intentions in check and delivering her part of the special day. They are the organizer and point of contact on the day of so be sure they know what you are expecting on your magical day, all last minute decision making is with her.

Dream Weddings

Still not sure you really need a planner? Look at it this way, while your finishing up your hair with the stylist, the florist is lost and cannot make it in time to set up. The stylist was only scheduled for four hours and you are already behind because the venue was locked when you arrived. Now the florist is lost, your hair is not finished and the girls are getting ready as well; mom is nowhere to be found. How can you get everything back on track plus be ready to walk down the aisle in 2 hrs? It has happened, I have seen it and I sometimes think my family enjoys putting me 'on the spot' knowing my profession.

Grooms&Men 2018

Wedding planners do a lot more than most brides realize on the day of. They organize, call ahead, find replacements and fix broken unexpected surprises along the way. Planners have to be organized and creative to implement all those wonderful ideas that you have decided to jam into on day:) As well as keep intentions in check!

This is your performing day, no one else can walk down the aisle but you so on this day please hand over the rings to the planner, after all you don't really want to be posted on youtube as a wedding day fail.
